The Reliefs I The Reliefs II Author: Antoon Melissen An initiative of the Jan Schoonhoven Foundation Expected Winter 2024 The catalogue raisonné of Jan Schoonhoven's reliefs aims to be a comprehensive publication that lists all known works. It will establish as definitive an inventory as possible of Schoonhoven's reliefs. The core of this catalogue raisonné consists of a chronological index of reliefs, from Schoonhoven’s first three-dimensional works in paper, cardboard and papier-mâché from the mid-1950s, up to the last known relief from 1992, executed two years before his death. An overview of reliefs, based on a formal, stylistic and archival/historical analysis, contributes to a better understanding of Schoonhoven’s artistic conception and of the significance of individual pieces and periods. The catalogue raisonné will be published in two volumes and consists of the following elements:
